Evidence Based Guidelines and Recommendations
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention is the premier national scientific authority on reducing Healthcare Associated Infections.
Independent Expertise
The CDC has created a group that serves as consultants for the development and application of evidence-based guidelines. These experts compose the CDC Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee, otherwise known as HICPAC, and the committee meets multiple times throughout the year to provide independent guidance to the CDC. In addition to the CDC evidence-based recommendations, many other clinical societies develop targeted guidance documents to help disseminate best practices related to infection control.
This resource site contains the most current evidence-based practices from the CDC as well as other clinical societies to advance infection prevention and control.
